Loved this place. Famous fow clam chowder in a sourdough bown. Do check that out. Also recommend fish and chips. Not too costly, worth the try !
MoreGot a white clam chowder and a red clam chowder. The white one was pretty normal, the red one just tasted like drinking spaghetti sauce. The bread was alright, but felt a bit stale on the outside. The restaurant is also really crowded, so we finally found seating outside in the bright sun. Mediocre experience.
MoreVery tasty and quite cheap. Fish and chips were amazing
Everything perfect. Great location and incredible food. Their chowders are simply delicious. Good price and the service is ver nice. Highly recommended! 10/10
MoreThis place has the most incredible clam chowder. Possibly even the best in the world. The service was super speedy and the location was absolutely beautiful. When i first walked in i was a bit hesitant of trying a clam chowder but once I did it was incredible. If you go to San Francisco this is a must.
MoreReally good food. The chowder came out quickly, but we had to wait for our other orders.
MoreAmazing place, peugeons were eating there too
Perfect place to stop on a wet cold day and getting clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. If you want your food in the immediacy, get the chowder. But I'm telling you, the fish and chips are worth the wait.
MoreThe clam chowder was so good and warm even for one that doesn't like chowder. Good quick bite if you're out walking at the pier .
MoreThe place is great! Has indoor as well outdoor dining facilities. I had Fish and chips here, which were amazing! The staff was friendly and polite. There was also charging facility available which helped me in getting a quick charge for my device.
MoreVery busy place, offers a menu with a few flavoursome choices, including freshly fried seafood and the world-famous clam chowder in a bowl of sourdough bread. Droolworthy. The food is great, the view on Pier 39 and its surroundings is excellent, the staff is quick and friendly and it is great value for money. Love the venue and its old 50's style feel!
MoreGood and fast service and the food was pretty good.
Perfect for cold weather maybe even summer, the creamy clam chowder placed in a sourdough bread, eat all leave nothing on your plate.
MoreLoved this place â¤ï¸ super good. Great price.
Decided to stop by to try some chowder after Alcatraz and found this place on Maps. $10 gets you a bowl of chowder in a sourdough bread and it's very filling. Tastes great and definitely would recommend. Also, sometimes pigeons dines here.
MoreGood service, good food, good price. Ordered the calamari, super crispy, should not have fries with it, has nothing to do with. The chowder was excellent. The service either
MoreGood place and great prices. Amazing chowder too. Def make this a stop but mind the crowds
MoreGreat place to eat , and have fun at the same time. There is karaoke .Place is clean and food have a great taste. Real sea food😉
MoreIt's the fisherman's wharf ... So yeah, don't expect a culinary experience but the food was decent, good portions and affordable. They have a nice area where you can sit outside, away from the crowd. So if you are stuck I'm that tourist trap called the fisherman's wharf then this is an option.
MoreGreat little stop for some seafood to warm the belly. The white chowder comes in a sourdough bread bowl and is pretty good to share -- it's rather large! The assortment of deep fried seafood was also pretty good. I was a tad disappointed by the crab cakes though as they lacked a bit in flavour. Overall, would still recommend a visit if you're by Fisherman's Wharf.
MoreTheir clam chowders in a break boul is really good
As with everything else in this area, this is a tourist trap. Inflated prices, generic menu and bland taste. The clam chowder in a bowl is the same you'd get anywhere along the wharf and pier 39. Any of these restaurants here will offer about the same. As long as you're okay with this, then you won't be disappointed. We tried their chowder and the seafood and chips.
MoreIt's okay. Affordable compared to the other places but the sourdough bowl is more bread than chowder. I went down the pier a little and there was another place selling chowder to go. It was about the same price but with no bread. I got the popcorn shrimp and when I chewed into a few pieces it felt like there was still some type of shell(almost like eggshell when you get a bit in your eggs)
MoreBusiness trip, I love chowder, I'll be back here.
Best clam chowder in SF! We've been here several times and the chowder is always amazing! As a personal preference we like the white chowder more than the red, but it's definitely worth trying both
MoreGreat clam chowder, bread is fresh and crunchy. The service was great with a smile. Will go back soon even though is hard to get in and get out.
MoreThis seafood restaurant is situated in Pier 39. The place serves fried fish, shrimps and veggies as well. The fried fish was pretty bland by itself. They also have white and red Chowder. We tried the white one and it was amazing.
MoreYum! So happy that this place was opened late the food was delicious! Everything tasted fresh from the calamari to the clam chowder soup! It was very filling and the orders came out pretty quickly given that they were busy when we arrived, highly recommended
MoreOrdered a seafood platter and 2 clam chowders. The clam chowders were hot and nice to have on a cold day. The hot clam chowders were good and tasty but portion was a bit small. The sourdough bread bowl bread filling took up space in the bread bowl. The staff didn't clean out the bread bowl enough. The seafood platter was too well done....the food was very crunchy and dry...maybe it was re-fried? My other concern was to do with hygiene. There were two pigeons that made their way into the restaurant. The birds flew onto a table to look for food and also the garbage bin. I had to eat as fast as I could to avoid the birds in the restaurant.
MoreTheir white clam chowder is super tasty. The staff was awesome and gave me fast service.
MoreGood place for a bite to eat at Pier 39. Chowder was delicious, and the sourdough bowl was equally as good. The sourdough breading on the fish was unique, but overpowers the flavor of anything else.
MoreChowder was flavourful and wasn't too bad, but the crab cakes left something to be desired for.
MoreBest restaurant at Fisherman’s Wharf. The White Clam Chowder is the best Clam Chowder I’ve ever had. I’ve also had the Seafood Platter and that was very good. This is kind of restaurant that in 3 weeks I’ll be craving their food. I highly recommend this restaurant.
MoreSo good and they are so quick!
Relatively inexpensive. Good sized portions.
Great tourist experience. Great place to try some clam chowder. Plenty of seating inside and some nice outdoor seats that look out onto the pier or the bay.
MoreThe clam chowder and crab cakes were to die for soo tasty and everything i hoped for when visiting for the first time. The food was good serving size for being the most reasonable priced of all places we looked with indoor and outdoor seat great views nice staff fast service
MoreThe chowder was so creamy. And all the seafood looked and tasted fresh.
This was in pier 39 they say it's the original sourdough bread bowl. it. Was good and a good portion. They charge 20 bucks for 2.
MoreDelicious clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. Also tried the seafood platter which was excellent. I highly recommend eating here when you visit Pier 39!!
MoreThe clam soup on both (white & red) are awesome! Thanks to the Mexican people that are working in there!
MoreGood food, chowder is delicious, Choices of red or white chowder. The sea food plate was delicious. Must try place.
MoreGreat food but no chowder for lactose intolerant folks like me... not even the Manhattan chowder was milk-less. Seafood plate pretty good
MoreLoved the clam chowder in the sourdough roll!Restaurant is just lovely, in some ways feeling like a cross between and old American diner and a fast food restaurant, in a good way.Chowders is located on Pier39 towards the entry to the pier. The food was fresh and cooked well. Everything tasted fabulous. We had the chowder and kids had fries, both were a recommend from me.Only weird part of our dinning experience was the tomato sauce wouldn’t come out of like three different bottles around the restaurant... odd.A strong recommend from me!!!
MorePiping hot chowder. Toasty bread bowls. The ocean air. What more could you want?!
MoreOne of the best fish sandwiches ever! I ordered fries with mine and they gave me the fries way before my sandwich came out. But, the deliciousness of the sandwich evened it out! The service is super speedy also.
MoreThe one and only spot to have chowder on a bread bowl
I liked seating by the windows with a view for the bay.The food is fine, but not super. You’re getting a little bit less then you pay for but overall it’s a very nice experience
MoreI’m usually not a clam chowder person but I just had to give it a try after reading reviews and it wasn’t a fail. The clam chowder was very tasty, had lots of clams and potatoes. It was very full filling. I also ordered the shrimp and chip basket and shrimp and crab sandwich. The shrimp were crispy golden brown and yummy. I felt the portion for the shrimp and crab sandwich was a little small.
MoreNice place to.stop for a quick bite. Wasn't busy when we went. The clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl was excellent. We also had the fish and chips Inna basket which was good too. Overall a decent place and the prices were pretty good considering you are on Pier 39
